Everyone must come into this world within some type of family environment, whether it is a 2-parent family, single parent household, foster care home, or adoption. Being a member of a family group is the only way to come into this world as human beings. This requirement for being human has become so "ordinary" that we take it for granted, and yet it is an essential foundation and requirement of humanity. This book, and the qualitative research behind it, explores this area of family relationships and what purpose they might serve for our spiritual development. After completing the research while in her PhD program, the author discovered that there is a purpose for the family experience, and it has to do with spiritual evolution, reincarnation, and the growth of our souls.Â
